Astera
Tiger Driver Upgrade Procedure
10/10/05
Astera HBAs need
to be authenticated in order to work
properly in Tiger.
- All HBAs purchased since April 1st 2005 are eligible for a free authentication key.
- All HBAs shipped from Astera starting Oct. 1st 2005 are already authenticated.
- All HBAs purchased prior to April 1st 2005 need an authentication.
How to Obtain an Authentication key?
In order to generate a key we need to know the “Serial number” of your HBA. Once you have the serial number email it to: support@asteratech.com. A key will be emailed to you within 24hrs of payment verification.
How to find the HBA “Serial Number?”
Method 1: launch JumanJi in OS-10.3.x or 10.2.x. JumanJi will display the HBA serial number in the “Information” pane once an HBA port is selected.
Method 2: The serial number is also printed on a label on the back of each HBA. The serial number is a 6 digit decimal number (e.g. 002345).
What is the cost for each Authentication key? $195USD.
How to purchase an authentication key directly from
Astera?
If you purchased the HBA before April 1st 2005 then you’ll need to purchase a key. We accept Paypal or American Express. Email support@asteratech.com with the number of keys you want to purchase and your preferred payment method. If you choose Paypal we will email you a Paypal payment request. Just follow the instruction in the email. If you choose American Express we email you an authorization form. Fax the filled form to: 510.743.4229.
Note: To expedite the process include the HBA serial numbers in your original email.
